The success of the first meeting of this kind largely depends upon the amount of appreciation and participation other, foreign students show towards the SymBioSE project, and the attempt to establish a European Biology Students Information Network might be a challenging task indeed, so our major aim in the first place can only be to reach as many students representatives organizations as possible.

According to that we ask anyone of you, who might only come across this site but has contact with a biology students representatives organization somewhere in Europe, to please notify them about the oncoming SymBioSE meeting and maybe also about this web site.

Since the housing capabilities of our chosen venue are somewhat restricted the maximum amount of applicants (excluding german participants) is 100. We don't feel very comfortable in putting a limit to the number of participants since we are eager gathering as many people as possible in order to make the first SymBioSE a success, yet we have to adopt to the naturally given limit of the venue. However there will be the possibility of camping, so if You don't mind bringing Your own tent, feel free to do so.

Please note that we need to charge an application fee of 100,- DM per applicant for the whole meeting in order to cover our expenses, however we assume this a reasonable amount for a one week meeting since this fee will include housing, full catering, excursions etc . We even try to get free public transport tickets for You, although it's not clear yet, if this will be possible.
There is no need for You to pay any deposit in advance. It's sufficient to pay the complete fee on arrival.

By the way - if You'd like to have the application fee converted into Your own currency You may freely use this site which gives You the possibility for Online Currency Conversion. Just fill in 100 in the I Want To Convert... text field and choose DEM German Marks from the menu just below. Then select Your currency in the INTO menue and start the conversion. There You are... (of course we take no responsibility for the accuracy of the results).

Application can generally be accomplished in three different ways:
First, You may already have received some written invitation via mail. One of these (in good tradition to the invitation procedure here in Germany we are sending multiple invitations to every address known to us, getting gradually more detailed along with the proceeding organization) should include an application form to be filled in and returned to the Organizing Committee.

However if Your organization in any case should NOT have received any written application form You may take advantage of our online application service provided on this page.

The simple way of applying online is to just fill in our Online Application Form and send it in by pressing the Submit button at the end of it.

Yet if for any reason You are not comfortable with online forms or Your browser does not support them, You may as well apply via plain e-mail.
Just be sure to put the subject to "SymBioSE Application" and include the following details in Your e-mail:

• Your Country / City
• Number of Participants
• Date / Time of Arrival
• Way of Arrival (e.g. train, plane, car etc.)
• Would You like to use the possibility of Camping (i.e. bring Your own tent)?
